The pine cone slices are attached to black silk cords 16 inches in length.Look good on both gals and guys!
Where do jack pine cones come from?
The jack pine is a tree found in the northern forests of Canada from Quebec to eastern Alberta. It grows in pure stands or in mixtures with black spruce or poplar. Jack pine prefers to grow on sandy and dry locations in the forest.
The jack pine cone is a unique design as it primarily opens when fire rages through the forest. The heat of the fires softens the resins between the cone scales to release the 30 to 40 winged seeds. This seed becomes the rebirth of the jack pine trees after the fire.
We hope you enjoy a unique piece of Canada!
